En Munduk conocimos a Stephan, Marc e Isabelle, todos ellos franceses, con los cuales compartiríamos vehículo para dirigirnos a la zona de Amed,todos buscábamos playa y tranquilidad. Llegados a Amed (que ocupa una franja de 10 km) nos dispusimos a buscar alojamiento en la aldea de Jemeluk.
La aldea estaba situada delante del volcán Gunung Agung junto a una playa de rocas volcánicas, salpicada de las tradicionales embarcaciones de pesca y de campos de producción de sal tradicionales. Las embarcaciones coloridas encalladas en la playa, daban paso a terrenos donde los locales produccián sal de una manera muy artesanal y que nos dejó fascinados.
Aquel lugar, era sin duda sinónimo de paz, aquel lugar era sin duda lo que andábamos buscando.....

Amed is a village on the eastern coast of Bali. It is about 10km looong and is divided into smaller settlement that all grow together with time.
The volcanic beach is surrounded by mountains, most impressive of which is Gunung Agung- a volcano that beatifully hides the sun, when it ends it trip every evening.
Apart from tourism the only occupations available for the locals are fishing and extracting salt from the sea. The second is made in fully traditional way.

Amed to miejscowość położona na wschodnim wybrzeżu wyspy Bali. Wioska rozciąga się na długości ok 10km wzdłuż brzegu i składa się z wielu zrośniętych ze sobą mniejszych osiedli.
Tutejsza plaża to drobne wulkaniczne kamyki. Otoczona jest wysokimi wzgórzami, z których największe wrażenie robi Gunung Agung, wulkan za którym chowa się słońce po zachodzie.
Pomijając turystykę, lokalni mieszkańcy nie mają wiele możliwości zarobienia pieniędzy. Większość z nich to rybacy. Część para się także pozyskiwaniem soli morskiej, które tutaj odbywa się w tradycyjny sposób a cały proces przeprowadzany jest ręcznie.
