SRI LANKA....UN PAÍS PARA ENAMORARSE.

the map  (found on the net, no source available) with our  route

Sri Lanka stole our hearts completely. The country is fantastic and magical and people humble and nice and sooo friendly. The island is pure paradise, although everywhere you will find the remiains of the hell- the 2004 tsunami.

The fauna of the country is so exotic. Monkeys are everyhere(off course) , but the sight of a varanae crossing your way is something exciting. The squirells are as quick as ours, but grey and big. Bats are not so spooky after all, huge, loud and they shit everywhere justb like birds:) Seeing the mighty elephants was a really big deal and the turtles laying their eggs was a onetime life experience. And there was so much more, gekhos, lizards, crabs and many more...

ACCOMODATION/NOCLEGI

Sri Lanka is definately much more expensive than India, but also the accomodations have much higher standard, usualy it's easy to find rooms with i internet, and out of season you can really bargain to nice prizes!

TRANSPORT:
Tuk tuks and buses will take you anywhere. The roads are generally quite ok but the travelling still takes a lot of time. The government  buses are not the most comfortale but inexpensive. It is even cheaper to travel by train (the views are usually breathtaking and worth any money!) but the third class trains without reservation are usually full to the limits- that why only recommendable for short trips.

FOOD/JEDZENIE:
The food is absolutely delicious. Spicy but very colourfull. Our favorite were rottys (wheat dough with vegetable filling). Rice with vegetable curry sauces was a very filling, tasty option to!And the jackfruit curry was the top of the tops!
Rewelacyjne są kombinacje rice and curry czyli ryż z różnymi warzywami (kilka małych porcji różnych warzyw). A najlepszą potrawą świata jest curry z jackfruita!

BENTOTA..

Bentota is another paradise beach and a very touristic city, We visited here a new, huge Buddhist temple... and the beach off course.
Szorcik: Bentota to kolejna rajaska plaża. My oprócz wizyty na plaży zwiedziliśmy też olbrzymią, nową buddyjską świątynię.

GALLE..

Galle is an old fort and a beautiful small town, where you still can see the influence of the dutch, portuguese and  british colonisers. It is now a typical fisherman place with fresh fish markets. The water is perfectly clear so swimming, you can meet some nice, colourful fish to!
Szorcik: Nadmorskie, kolonialne miasto Galle to dawny fort, gdzie nadal widocxzne są wpływy urzędujących tu niegdyś Portugalczyków, Holendrów oraz Brytyjczyków. Jest to przede wszystkim urocze małe miasteczko pełne małych uliczek, a fort otoczony jest rybnymi targowiskami. W przejrzystych wodach otaczających fort można się wykąpać z wieloma egzotycznymi, kolorowymi rybami!
