FURGONETA AZUL: NEPAL, TECHO DEL MUNDO....

Quizás quince días en Nepal sean pocos, porque esta tierra invita a quedarse en ella eternamente.

Pero estoy inmensamente feliz de haber podido adentrarme en uno de los confines mas hermosos del Planeta, de haber disfrutado cada segundo en la República Federal Democrática de Nepal y de tener mis recuerdos llenos de impresionantes imágenes....

Aquí en Nepal he visto y recorrido uno de los lugares que mas me han marcado mi vida, Los Himalyas, y concretamente el Macizo de los Annapurnas. Amanecer en esos parajes y divisar esas monstruosas y hermosas cimas era mas de lo que podía esperar del viaje; aquí supe sin remedio que todo esfuerzo pasado mereció la pena por tamaño regalo de la naturaleza......Jamas podre olvidarme de haberme sentido tan feliz en aquellas montañas, en este país donde todo es grandioso, como sus habitantes, luchadores, hospitalarios y amigables, sus comidas, ¡porque que comidas!, seré adicto de por vida a sus famosos momos y también recordaré con cariño las aventurillas en los medios de transporte o los lugares tan plácidos donde hemos dormido....

He disfrutado mucho, muchísimo, entre los colores de sus calles, con el aroma de su vida, con el sonido de esa naturaleza tan impresionantemente viva y sintiendo en las yemas de mis dedos el hermoso placer de jugar a tocar el TECHO DEL MUNDO.....

Os recordaré con especial cariño a cada uno de vosotros, compañeros de aventuras, que hicisteis de este viaje mas mágico aún si cabe, sabéis quien sois, porque reímos juntos y nuestras carcajadas fueron por momentos las cimas mas hermosas de esas cordilleras.......

Daré las gracias por haber vivido de nuevo experiencias de hospitalidad, de amistad y de esfuerzo.

Nepal was so different than India- calmer, less chaotic. In the beginning I actually even missed the neverending noise of India. Nepali people seem not even to notice the tourists, they are nice and helpful but just don't make a big deal out of the thousands of people that come to visit their country. But once they decide, that you are trustworthy, the meeting with the locals can turn into a really open relation, where you really feel welcome and not observed. I actually liked this distance in the beginning of all conversations.

Everyone that comes to visit Nepal is under the huge impression of how beautiful the landscapes are. The Nepali people don't seem to notice Himalayas in their everyday lifes. They know, that what looks great for the tourists eye is hard work and fight against the natures laws for the others. People here know how difficult it is to gain the not so friendly nature on their side- these are tough people with a lot respect to Mother Earth.

Przekraczając granice Nepalu, wkraczamy w krainę baśni. Potężne góry królujące nad krajobrazem (niecałego kraju... wbrew pozorom Nepal potrafi być całkiem płaski!) budzą respekt. Ale tutejsi ludzie zdają się nie zauważać piękna krajobrazu. Dla nich wysokie góry to ciężka praca aby otrzymać coś od ziemi w zamian za trud włożony w jej uprawę. Turyści do tylko dodatek do krajobrazu, którego często zdają się nawet nie zauważać. Jednak dystans, który na początku napotykaliśmy szybko okazywał się tylko fasadą, a ludzie tak naprawdę byli bardzo sympatyczni i pomocni.

Po przekroczeniu granicy uderzył nas od razu niesamowity spokój- nie tylko brak chaosu i klaksonów na ulicach ale także spokój w twarzach mijanych ludzi. Naprawdę mogliśmy odetchnąć, chociaż na samym początku, nie przyznając się do tego, wręcz tęskniliśmy za harmidrem Indii.

Widok potężnych gór towarzyszący nam na każdym kroku naprawdę dawał poczucie bliskości z naturą(no może w Katmandu niekoniecznie). Te cudowne krajobrazy na zawsze wryły się w moją pamięć i dodam tylko krótko: chcę jeszcze!!!Na pewno tu wrócimy...

FOOD/JEDZENIE/COMIDA

The food in Nepal is rather simple, there are a lot of influences from both India (mostly street food), Tibet and Mongolia. The most popular is rice with vegetables and dal (lentils)- but it's not as spicy and fatty as in India. In the Newari region (around Kathmandu) the most popular dish is samay baji- which is flattened rice with meat and vegetables. It is very original because the rice is served uncooked.

Our favourite, apart from the homemade meals at Milans house were momo's. Momo are dumplings with different fillings (mostly meat, but vegetables are also possible to find). They are served steamed or fried and always accompanied by a sauce-usualy tomato-soybean sauce or fresh ginger chutney. Simply delicous, or like a real Nepali would say: MITOSA!

Kuchnia Nepalu pozostaje pod dużym wpływem sąsiadów: Tybetu, Indii oraz Mongolii. Wpływy Indyjskie szczególnie widoczne są w jedzeniu ulicznym. Najpopularniejszym daniem jest podobnie jak w Indiach jest ryż z dodatkiem warzyw oraz dal (zupa/sos z soczewicy),czyli po prostu nasze ukochane thali- nieco mniej tłuste i mniej pikantne. Ciekawostką jest miejscowa wersja thali z regionu Newari (wokół Katmandu), gdzie zamiast gotowanego ryżu podaje się do thali tzw. ryż bity na surowo, a wygląda to (i smakuje) jak surowe płatki ryżowe.

Naszym ulubionym daniem w Nepalu były jednak momo- czyli po prostu pierogi!!!Najpopularniejsze są te z nadzieniem mięsnym, ale można też znaleźć momo warzywne. Momo gotuje się na parze, dzięki czemu się nie rozlatują(dzięki temu też w masie na momo zazwyczaj nie ma jajek, jupii!!!). Rewelacyjna jest wersja smażona na głębokim tłuszczu, a prawdziwą tajemnicą smaku tej potrawy są niesamowite sosy: najlepsze to pomidorowo-sojowy oraz surowe chuntey z imbiru i warzyw. "Mitosa", czyli pycha:)

TRANSPORT

We were sure, that nothing can surprize us... but we were wrong. The small buses in Kathmandu seem to hawe walls made of elastic gum... or maybe the passengers are made of gum? In a minibus with 12 sitting places I once counted 26 passengers+ driver and ticket seller!!! Otherwise- the governmental buses are not the most comfortable way to travel, but definately the cheapest. The funny (?!) thing is, that the worst palces in the back somehow always are sold to the tourists... :)

Myśleliśmy, że po Indiach nic już nas w podróżach autobusami nie zaskoczy. Jakże się myliliśmy. Okazuje się, że minibusy w Katmandu mają nieograniczoną pojemność. Raz naliczyłam 26 pasażerów w 12-osobowym busie... do tego kierowca i bileter!Akrobacje wykonywane przez pasażerów, aby zmieścić się w pojeździe to całkiem ciekawy widok... aż do czasu gdy samemu przyjdzie się nieco powyginać!

Ciekawostką dotyczącą autobusów długodystansowych jest fakt, że dziwnym trafem najgorsze miejsca w tyle autobusu zawsze trafiają do turystów... :)

ACCOMODATION/NOCLEGI/ALOJAMIENTOS

The guesthouses in Nepal are usualy cheap and clean. We found places to stay for 5 -6 eur for double room. In the mountains the prizes are even much cheaper- but you need to eat in their restaurants- and the higher the guest house is, the more expensive the food gets.

Noclegi są raczej tanie, nam zazwyczaj udawało się znaleźć pokoje za ok 20-25zl. W górach, podczas trekingu jest o wiele taniej, jednak wynajmując pokój trzeba w tym samym pensjonacie zamawiać jedzenie, a ono im wyżej tym jest droższe.

the favourite sport seems to be football, but there are also some cricket fans/ najpopularniejszym sportem jest piłka nożna, ale fanów krykieta też jest sporo
