KATHMANDU

THANKS MILÁN FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY!!

With our host Milan and his mum/ Z naszym hostem Milanem i jego mamą
We left Kathmandu for the last days of our visit in Nepal. We stayed there in the house of Milan from Be Welcome. Milan became our guide in the city. He showed us around not only in the touristic parts of the town but also in his neighbourhood and introduced us to his friends.
The city itself is a bit chaotic, but once you understand how the traffic works (there are big and small buses, some of them are private), you can get easily around.
The old town is architectonicaly similar to Bhaktapur. The Durbar square is beautiful- and also made in red brick. What I found new and very interesting were the buddhist temples- like Boudhanath in the center of the town. Also- we were Lucky(?) to see the cremation ceremony in the hindu temple complex of Pashupatinath. The full of life district of Thamel is also a place that needs to be visited- if not for shopping, at least to feel the cosmopolitan athmosphere of the city.
