In El Nido we found paradise (yes, again). The town was named nido (nest) after the edible nests of swiftlets, found in the  limestone cliffs- the nests are used to make a soup (not so common anymore, expensive and eaten on special occasions only).
The town is placed in a small bay, surrounded by limestone islands, which you can visit doing the island hopping (boat trips). We combined the island hopping with our diving/kayak tour.
El Nido is a typical small town, there are a few fancy restaurants but also a lot of local, cheap places... and then thousands of tourist offices that organize the island hopping- honestly there are probably more of them then the restaurants and guesthouses all together.
Walking aroung el Nido, you will find yourself surrounded by the magnificent limestones- enough just to look up, and you just see these rocky wonders... and it makes you feel so small in front of them.
And then there is the beach in the city- in the afternoon it's just a strip of white sand between the seashore restaurants and water, in the morning it's a huge white sandy space that leads you like a delicate carpet  to the cristal clear water. And then- all the perfect, lonely beaches on the islands that you see from the beach and that hide behind the limestones.
The very first moment we arrived, we knew that we gonna stay here for longer and enjoy every little second of our stay. And so we did...

El Nido to małe i raczej senne miasteczko położone w malowniczej zatoczce.
Aby je odwiedzić, trzeba wykupić jedną z czterech całodniowych wycieczek (każda z nich obejmuje inne wyspy, a agencji oferujących wycieczki jest więcej niż restauracji i noclegów razem wziętych).
