PALOLEM BEACH

Siguiendo nuestro periplo por la región de Goa acabamos tras coger un tren en Palolem Beach a 3km de Chaudi.

Lo primero fue buscar alojamiento, cosa que conseguimos rápido gracias a cruzarnos con Francisco que nos ofreció una habitación en su casa a escasos 20 metros de la playa. Una casita humilde, donde vivía Francisco con su familia y que por un par de noches se convirtió en nuestro hogar...

De la playa solo decir que era de película, espectacularmente bella, con casas y bares empotrados en el palmeral que desembocaba en la playa, con vacas, cerdos, gallinas rondando por allí, con el cielo plagado de águilas pescadoras y con el espectáculo de ver los delfines cerca de la orilla....

Nuestros dos días trascurrieron descansando y descubriendo los rincones de esta playa, así como el ambiente nocturno que allí se daba gracias a la gran cantidad de turistas extranjeros y locales que viene a este paraíso a disfrutar sus vacaciones...

Typical Goan/southern indian VEG THALI

If paradise exists then it's in Palolem Beach.... you just need to erase all the tourists from the sight. The most known beach in south Goa is beatiful but, even though we were there near the seasons end, pretty crowded. Not as crowded as the Calangute beach in the north, but still.. The ambiente of the beach reminds of Ibiza, but the views are more overwhelming. The coconut palms surrounding the white sand beach, the small huts in all the different colors, the hundreds of colorful boats and the small rocky mountains closing the beach from both ends make the picture perfect. The main beach is the most turistic, but on the rocks on both sides and at the butterfly beach near Palolem, you still can find some lonely space.

We have rented a room from a local named Francisco. With him we could speak a bit about how life is in Palolem during the whole year, not only in the season. There are so many people that came here from all over the region attrected by the thousands of turists coming here every year, but after the turists leave there is not much left... a handfull of hippies, rain and the locals with their animals... Already now- when the season is coming to it's end, you can see a bit of desperation in the eyes of the market sellers... they need to earn as much as possible in order to survive the whole year long.

Szorcik: Palolem to plaża rajska i gdyby nie tłum oblegających ją turystów, byłaby rajem prawdziwym. Palolem to najpopularniejsza plaża południowego Goa. Mimo dużej liczby przyjezdnych jest o wiele mniej zatłoczona niż np Calangute. Oprócz Brytyjczyków królują tu, podobnie jak w pozostałych zakątkach Goa, turyści z Rosji. Klimatem plaża przypomina Ibizę.

Nieważne w którą stronę spojrzeć, na pewno zachwyci nas krajobraz: kolorowe, drewniane chatki chowające się w cieniu palm kokosowych, idealnie drobny, biały piasek, kolorowe łódki wożące turystów na spotkanie z delfinami (choć delfiny można dostrzec z plaży i gołym okiem- sprawdziliśmy!)i skały zamykające wszystko z dwu stron. Nie sposób nie ulec urokowi tego miejsca...

Zatrzymaliśmy się tu w domu jednego z całorocznych mieszkańców plaży- Francisco. Zdecydowanie wolimy wspierać 'tubylców' niż sieci przyplażowych hotelików. Dzięki temu mieliśmy też okazję dowiedzieć się jak naprawdę wygląda tu życie poza turystycznym sezonem, a nie jest ono łatwe. Mimo że turysci zostawiają tu dość spore pieniądze, to mieszkańcy muszą przeżyć z zarobionych zimą pieniędzy przeżyć cały rok, a ceny w porównaniu z Europą są śmiesznie niskie a więc i zarobek niewielki. Dlatego mieszkańcy radzą sobie jak mogą, dzięki czemu widok kur, krów i... świń przechadzających się między budynkami nie jest rzadkością.
