To get to Danmark, we took the ferry from Puttgarden. After short time spent on the boat, we have planned to go to Copenhagen, but on the way to stop in two towns.
Danmark welcomed us with rain and a very cold wind... a touch of scandinavia to begin the trip:)
First we stopped in Nykobing. I have heard from many people that it's a lovely small town with a beautfull harbour...well...after a walk in the town we discovered that there is another Nykobing in a different part of Danmark... i think everybody was talking about the beauty of the other Nykobing, because the one we have visited was nice, but well... let's say nice and small:)
Than we made a little stop in Roskilde, took a walk in the center and passed by the viking museum, that unfortunately was already closed, but we could take a look at the vikingboats in the exposition that is outside of the museum...
Than in the late evening we finally arrived to Copenhagen, and in the first moments we hated the city, because its impossible to find a parkingplace here. We needed about two hours to understand how and where to park... and because there are no feefree parkingplaces, we've decided to risk and not to pay:) and we succeeded:)
The nightwalk at Stroget (main shopping street) and a visit at amalienborg palace and Nyhavn(harbour) made us change our minds about the city... we forgot the problems with parking and enjoyed the beauty of Copenhagen until midnight- than we went to the trainstation to wait for Ramon/Faraon, our friend from Seville, that flew to Copenhagen to join us at the trip for almost a month!!!!!!WELCOME FARAON!!!!!!
After a night spent in the van, early in the morning we started the second part of the sightseeing... a short walk at Stroget, taking a look down at the town from Vor Frelses Kirke, and than: direction Christiania, which is a free hippie town in the center of Copenhagen. After putting our first steps on Christianias ground, we didn't want to leave it ever more. The place is magical and colourfull. Full of artists, musitians, painters, sculpurers.... Its a huge squat, with about 850 residents that live in the military zone, that they turned into a small hippie village, with their own special law. Because of the town is also known for the cannabis marked, since 2004 the free town of Chrisitnia is in conlfict with the danish goverment, but most of the people want to save their hippie town, we also hope the goverment never will succeed to close it: BEVAR CHRISTIANIA!!!!!!!!!!
Our visit at Christiania was longer than we have planned:) So afterwards we had not much time left. So we ate the famous pølser- danish hotdogs and falafel at a turkish restaurant in Nørrebro, we passed by the botanical garden and Rosenborg palace and than we said goodbye to the beautful copenhagen and went north to Hundested, to visit my friend Ola!!!!
