Agra, antigua capital del impero mogol, situada a orillas de río Yamuna, ofrece mas cosas a parte de su famoso Taj Mahal. Sus calles llenas de vida, los numerosos parques o los bazares hacen de Agra una ciudad muy dinámica, aunque fuertemente contaminada.
Una de las grandes sorpresas para nosotros fue visitar y alucinar con el Red Fort, pues uno cree que tiene todo visto después de estar en el Taj Mahal.
También llamado Lal Qila, es un fuerte de arenisca roja, amurallado, que cobija en su interior un gran número de palacios y edificios señoriales, es la fortaleza mas importante de India y sin duda el símbolo del impero Mogol, pues gobernaron desde aquí.
Taj Mahal is not the only thing that Agra has to offer. Actually, what I liked more than Taj Mahal was the Red Fort. It is a whole city inside a fortification. It has a history dating til the beginnings of the 12th century, but it's nowadays shape was given to it by the Mughals. The fort is huge, and you can see Taj Mahal from it.
We had also some time to walk around the city of Agra- and discovered the local (absolutely tourist free) markets.
Szorcik: Miasto Agra ma do zaoferowania nieco więcej niż tylko Taj Mahal. Nas urzekł Czerwony Fort, ogromna fortyfikancja, kryjąca wewnątrz całe miasto i pałace z cudownymi ornamentacjami wykutymi w marmurze. Fort moim zdaniem jest o wiele bardziej warty uwagi niż Taj Mahal, na pewno jest większy, tańszy i moim zdaniem piękniejszy!
Oprócz fortu znaleźliśmy lokalny bazar (zupełnie wolny od turystycznego tłoku) i zwiedziliśmy samo miasto...
