CIRQUE NAVACELLES .........Y EL VIADUCTO DE MILLAU!!!

Marta venia todos los fin de semanas para reencontrarnos en Montpellier, y poder aprovechar el tiempo junto a los amigos o nuestras amadas excursiones....

Una de ellas nos llevo hasta el fenómeno geológico del Cirque de Navacelles.....un cañón de rocas blancas que caen a pico desde una altura de 400m y donde a sus pies recorre el río Vis.....se dice que es el mas grande de Europa...

Una hermosura geológica que te embelesa, se puede observar desde ambos lados del cañón su magnitud y belleza, y donde además no es muy difícil ver los buitres que atraviesan aquel paisaje para el recuerdo.

Abajo a pies del cañón, recorre fuerte y brusco el río Vis formando cascadas y recovecos donde volveremos algún día soleado para disfrutar de un buen baño.....
El colofón a un bonito y placentero día de excursión fue visitar Millau y poder observar el FAMOSO VIADUCTO, EL PUENTE MAS ALTO DEL MUNDO!!!!Con una altura máxima de 343m sobre el río Tarm(el mismo que pasa por Montauaban) y una longitud 2.460 m , está sujeto sobre 7 inmensos pilares que lo soportan...........una obra que tardo más de 36 meses en hacerse y que ha día de hoy es el símbolo de Millau.

If you are craving to see something spectacular- go to Cirque de Navacelles. It is a strange landform, in the middle of a big canyon. The view over the valley is incredible (it was raining when we got there, so I cannot even imagine how beautiful it must be, when the sun is shining). But the big surprise hides down in the ancient valley of the river Vis, but first you have to take the curvy road to get there- feels like rollercoaster ride! In the rocky mountain- the Cirque, there is a waterfall which takes your breath away. You can even bath in it and take a look down at the river (which we off course did… in pouring rain… and all the other tourists- who first watched us from a view point decided to follow our footsteps:)) We don’t know if they also tried to go up the river, towards the waterfall… but I guess it was raining too much for them- but not for us:) 

 Szorcik: Jesli najdzie was kiedys nieprzezwyciezona ochota na wielkie doznania estetyczne, to znam miejsce gdzie ta potrzeba zbajdzie swoje ujscie… Cirque de Navacelles, to ciekway twor geologiczny w dawnej dolinie rzeki Vis. Widok z gory jest imponujacy. W samym srodeczku wyschnietej doliny znajduje sie mala wysepka, aby ja zwiedzic trzeba zjechac autem po niezwykle kretej drodze- wyczyn iscie kaskaderski, ale na koncu czeka piekna niespodzianka- wodospad ukryty w drzewach. Mimo deszczu postanowilismy sprawdzic czy mozna sie w nim wykapac… no coz woda byla mrozaco zimna, ale wrazenie niezapomniane… no bo w koncu ile razy mozna spojrzec ze szczytu wodospadu prosto w dol… na skaly o ktore rozbija sie spadajaca z hukiem woda…  Podobnych doznan rzadni byli inni turysci, ktorzy niesmialo podarzyli za nami. Na wycieczke w gore rzeki jednak juz sie nie zdecydowali… my urzadzilismy sobie maly spacerek woda, mimo ulewy, a co tam!Raz sie zyje!

Millau is a pleasant small town but it’s known in France mostly because the “wonder of architecture”, huge viaduct. It is the tallest bridge in the world, with one mast's summit at 343.0 metres and the 12th highest bridge in the world, at 270 metres high below the road deck. In its tallest point it’s much taller that Eiffel tower. I must admit that I am not a great fan of the modern architecture but the viaduct really makes a great impression. You can see it from far away, while passing the Gorges de Tarn (the rocky valley of river Tarn), there is even a viewpoint to see it better (lol).

Szorcik: W okolicach Millau mozna cud zobaczyc, a dokladnie cud architektury nowoczesnej czyli wiadukt , najwyzszy na swiecie… jesli mowimy o wysokosci filarow. Ten najwyzszy z najwyzszych jest wyzszy od wiezy Eiffla. A zeby wyzszosc wiaduktu nad innymi wysokimi wiaduktami zobaczyc, mozna sie zatrzymac przy specjalnie przygotowanych wiezach widokowych… a tak na serio, to owszem… wrazenia estetyczne sa imponujace, szczegolnie kiedy wiadukt powoli wylania sie zza skalistego kanionu rzeki Tarn.
