Taipei y New Taipei llevaran siempre inscrito el nombre de Abhay, un canadiense con el compartimos paseos, comidas y la degustación no planeada de todas las cervezas locales de la ciudad y por supuesto el de Yi Lan-Wang y Tom un matrimonio local que nos abrió las puertas de su casa durante cinco días en un gran acto de hospitalidad y generosidad.
Taipe al principio y mas tarde New Taipei fueron nuestro hogar durante la semana que pasamos en la isla de Taiwán. Esta ciudad, motor político y económico del país nos ofreció multitud de cosas.
Los secretos de una ciudad como Taipei son numerosos, pero uno puede adentrase en ellos con tiempo y curiosidad. Esta ciudad esta muy bien comunicada por metro con lo que nos permitió visitar casi todos los distritos y ver todo aquello que nos propusimos.
Uno no puede dejar de perderse tanto de día como de noche por Ximending, degustando comida callejera o simplemente observando todo que ocurre alrededor. También visitamos el entorno financiero que rodea a la torre 101, la segunda mas alta del Mundo e icono de la ciudad. O uno puede también perderse entre algunos templos o el inmenso memorial Chiang Kai -Shek estandarte del país.
Hay también algunas rutas por senderos entre las montañas que bordean la ciudad que te permiten observar la ciudad desde las alturas si sobrevives a los mosquitos y a los escalones y por supuesto algo que no puedes dejar de visitar es cualquiera de sus mercados nocturnos, para comer y comer sin parar y probar las tan conocidas como exquisitas tortillas de ostras....
Our last stop in Asia was Taiwan. We started with staying a few days in the capital Taipei: first at a hostel, then couchsurfing.
Day one was all about getting to know the city, we stayed in the 'cool' part of Taipei, called Ximending- with all the backpacker hostels, bars, shops and nightlife. We met the canadian Abhay, who made us go on a beer tour around the town and made us enjoy every moment spent with him so much!
Then Yi-Lan and her husband Tom invited us to stay with them in the New Taipei part. They took such a good care of us- showing us around and taking us to the best places to eat:)
We wandered around the city without any exact plan, just soaking up the last asian moments of this trip. But we did make it to the financial center of Taiwan around the 101 Tower, we even climbed a mountain to watch the city lights come up, while it gets darker (and got stunged by millions of mosquitoes!). Seeing the Chiang Kai -Shek was definately a nice thing and we even got lucky enough to see the Changing of the Guards there.
Nasz ostatni przystanek w Azji to Tajwan. Zaczęliśmy od wizyty w Tajpej. Pierwszy dzień, czyli rozeznanie skończył się na krajoznawczej wycieczce po mieście z Kanadyjczykiem Abhayem, który sprawił, że Tajpej stało się dla nas najzabawniejszą stolicą świata a w szczególności kolorowa i ruchliwa dzielnica Ximending:)
Po spędzeniu jednej nocy w hostelu, przenieśliśmy się do Nowego Tajpej, dzielnicy, gdzie mieszkali nasi CS, Yi-Lan i jej mąż Tom, którzy ugościli nas wręcz po królewsku!
Nasze zwiedzanie było raczej chaotyczne- staraliśmy się raczej nacieszyć ostatnimi chwilami w Azji niż skupiać na śledzeniu turystycznej mapy. Udało nam się jednak dotrzeć do najważniejszych punktów Tajpej. Dotarliśmy w okolice wieży 101, zobaczyliśmy zapalające się światła miasta z pełnego komarów punktu widokowego a nawet załapaliśmy się na zmianę warty w Chiang Kai -Shek.
