Swan Hill se encuentra situada en pleno corazón del Murray River, uno de los mas apasionantes y carismáticos ríos de Australia.
Este río lleno de historia, y que en antaño era fuente indispensable de alimento y cobijo para los aborígenes, fue también uno de los enclaves favoritos de los colonos para asentar sus colonias y aprovechar el cauce del río para el transporte o la pesca.
El Murray River es a día de hoy la frontera natural entre los estado de Victoria y New South Wales, así como el recurso principal para el regadío de huertas y plantaciones masivas de frutales entorno a sus orillas, algunas partes del Bush(bosque) sobreviven a día de hoy, dando cobijo a animales y experiencias agradables a quien los recorre.
En este río, hemos sido invitados a paseos en barco por los amigos de Sally, hemos tenido la oportunidad de recorrer sus orillas a pie o en bicicleta y también disfrutar de largos paseos junto a nuestros amigos, contemplando atardeceres o la graciosa mirada de canguros.
Mis amigos han contribuido a hacer de este río un lugar especial, por haber sido participes de cada una de nuestras aventuras en las orillas de un río lleno de trazas aborígenes.

Mighty Murray River, flowing endlessly
This mighty muddy river’s only searching to be free
There are days it seems to be, that you’re almost standing still
Reflecting back a landscape, for watching eyes to thrill
And as you catch a red sunset, with the sky lit like a flame
The beauty and the splendour, to you it’s all the same
And those nights the moon and stars, also do their magic show
You can change your face to silver, reflecting back their glow
But day or night it's plain to see, just how much you’re really worth
To each and every life form, living on your path on earth

Swan Hill lays in the heart of Murray river. We tried to go for walks along the river as often as possible. Each time was like a treasure hunt for us. Our treasures were kangsaroos, swings on the trees above the water, big, old trees, almost forgotten trails and the amazing sunsets reflected in the calm waters of the river.
Region Swan Hill to serce rzeki Murray. My, przebywając w okolicy, staraliśmy się być nad rzeką jak najczęściej, okrywając za każdym razem piękno tych jakże nowych dla nas krajobrazów. Każda wycieczka do lasu- nad rzekę, była jak poszukiwanie skarbów. Skarbami okazywały się popołudniowe spotkania z kangurami, huśtawki ze starej opony dające szansę na krótki lot ponad wodami rzeki, stare, ogromne drzewa, zapomniane ścieżki i przepiękne zachody słońca odbijające się w lustrze Murray.
