PAI BY MOTORBIKE :).....

Los alrededores de Pai ofrecen mucho a quien desee explorarlo, y nosotros nos dispusimos a ello alquilando una moto y haciendo kilómetros en todas las direcciones para visitar el mayor numero de sitios posibles.

Visitamos distintos templos, salpicados ellos en las diferentes rutas de la comarca, nos acercamos al "Memorial Brigde", un puente construido durante la II Guerra Mundial, subimos a ver unas cárcavas en forma de cañón, disfrutamos de unas hermosas cascadas , recorrimos silenciosos los campos y praderas , hicimos paradas obligatorias en los puntos de vista mas altos para contemplar la belleza del montañoso horizonte y fuimos a bañarnos a unas aguas termales que nos produjeron relax total.

La sensación de recorrer estos parajes en moto, es hermosa, porque uno tiene la sensación de que el camino jamás se acabará......

there are so many places here, where the elephants are mishandled so that tourist can get their elephant ride/ wiele jest tu niestety miejsc, gdzie słonie są wykorzystywane do przejażdżek:/ przykro patrzeć na nieszczęście tych wielkich zwierzaków, którym zabrano wolność aby turyści mogli zrobić sobie fotkę do albumu z podróży/ hay un montón de lugares, donde se pueden alquilar los elefantes para un paseo- que triste es ver estos animales tan enormes tan infelices y prisioneros para que los turistas puedas tomar un par de fotos sentados encima de ellos:/

Again we felt the urge to feel the wind in the hair (or underneath the helmets). We did some serious sightseeing around Pai. A very intense day included: the canyon, hundreds of pagodas, chinese village, hot springs (yeah baby!), Memorial Bridge and lots and lots of driving around (fun, fun) and tons of positive emotions. The  ature around Pai is incrediblby reach and beautiful. The green hills look like their inviting you to climb them, really! And you could drive around for days, and never get enough of those views... and always dicovering that there is another waterfall just around the corner. Amazing:)

Szorcik: Po raz kolejny wsiedzlismy na motor i ruszyliśmy przed siebie zwiedzać okolice Pai. Okazało się to być naprawdę niemałym przedsięwzięciem, bo okoliczne zielone wzgórza obfitują w atrakcje. Przede wszystkim zachwycić się tu trzeba naturą: są tu góry, górskie strumyki, przepiękny kanion, gorące źródła (rewelacja:)) i mnóstwo miejsc do odkrycia- celów dla motorowych podróży raczej tu nie zabraknie. Intensywne moto- zwiedzanie urozmaiciły nam także, jak wszędzie w Tajlandii, liczne pagody, a oprócz nich ciekawostka, czyli chińska wioska oraz Memorial Bridge.

PAI....

Viajábamos en minibus hacía la provincia de Mae Hong Son, para descansar en el fabuloso pueblo de PAI. Situado a pocos kilómetros de la frontera birmana, Pai nos ofrecía el placer de un lugar tranquilo, rodeado de montañas y con una panorama visual maravillosa.

La vida en este pueblo, es fácil y apacible, y nosotros no íbamos a dejar escapar la oportunidad que nos brindaban de descansar y relajarnos. Paseos a orillas del río o por cualquiera de sus callejuelas para alimentarnos mientras observábamos el devenir del día , fueron momentos que aún pareciendo normales , nos aportaban  cierto sosiego.

Pai es a día de hoy un pueblo de índole hippie, multiétnico y acogedor. Donde los Thais ,Chinos, Yaos y algunos extranjeros instalados aquí conviven de forma fraternal.

Es sin duda uno de los lugares mas acogedores por los que hemos pasado, un lugar para quedarse una temporada si uno no tiene prisa en seguir su camino.

Pai has a fame of a hippie/backpacker capital of Thailand and that's what it actually is! The place is so good, that you just want to stay here forever (yes, I know I've said that so many times before:P) it makes you relax, calm down... just enjoy the simple things. The people here are also more welcoming than any other place in Thailand. It is cheap, the food is great (so many vegan options!!!!) and the surroundings breathtaking... I mean- do you need anything else?

Szorcik: Pai to mała miejscowość słynąca ze swojego hipisowsko- backpackerskiego klimatu. Rzeczywiście, mimo niskiego sezonu, w powietrzu czuć luz a na ulicach spotkać można przede wszystkim ludzi w kwiecistych kreacjach lub z gigantycznym plecakiem na plecach. Oprócz tego są Chińczycy stadnie wypożyczający skutery których prowadzić nie potrafią i którymi to próbują przejechać wszystkich przechodniów:) 
Miasteczko skłania do wyciszenia się, choć okazji (i lokali) do imprezowania też nie brakuje. Czuć tu, że mieszkańcy cieszą się z obecności turystów, czemu dają wyraz na każdym kroku... a małomiasteczkowa sielanka budzi ochotę do zatrzymania się tu na dłużej.

CHIANG MAI....

Pues al fin poníamos pie en el norte de Tailandia, y ni mas ni menos que la elegida fue Chiang Mai.

Es la segunda ciudad de Tailandia y se caracteriza por sus templos, su cultura y su comercio. Esta vieja ciudad fue fundada en 1296 y construida tras un foso y una muralla para protegerla de las incursiones birmanas.

En la ciudad hay nada menos que unos 300 templos budistas o Wats entre los que destacan el Wat Chiang Man, el Wat Phrathat Doi Shutep, el Wat Phra Singh o el Wat Chedi Luang. Ademas parte de su belleza radica en su entorno, al estar rodeada de grandes montañas y estar levantada a las orillas del río Ping.

Nosotros la disfrutamos durante un fin de semana, paseando y recorriendo cada tranquilo rincón de su centro amurallado.Y sobre todo participando activamente de los mercados nocturnos que se levantan en la ciudad los Sábados o Domingos, donde uno puede degustar de una gama muy alta de productos locales y disfrutar de la atmósfera que se crea.

So we finally moved north... and the trip was hell: one day two nights between ferries and buses and a short stop in Bangkok... But finally we got to Chiang Mai, the capital of the Chiang Mai Province and also the biggest city in the north. It is actually very calm and the only place where you can see crowds would be the lovely markets (both at day and night time), that are placed in different zones of Chiang Mai. The tourism in the city (if you don't go on trips outside to explore the nature) is mostly all about visiting temples .... Which we did, but our tourism based mostly on visiting the markets and enjoying the food (so many tasty veggie stuff!!!) and the atmosphere.

Szorcik: Po długiej podróży (2 noce i jeden dzień spędzone na promach i w autobusach oraz kilka godzin w Bangkoku) wreszcie dotarliśmy na północ Tajlandii, o której słyszeliśmy wiele dobrego- i słusznie. Naszym pierwszym przystankiem było największe miasto północy- Chiang Mai. Na próżno tu jednak szukać wielkomiejskiego gwaru i chaosu. Od początku rzuca się to w oczy (i uszy) spokój, nietypowy dla dużych miast. Życie toczy się dość leniwie, na ulicach brak tłumów, a jedyne miejsca, gdzie życie toczy się z większą energią to targowiska odbywające się w różnych częściach miasta, zarówno w dzień jak i w nocy.
Ponieważ zwiedzanie Chiang Mai ograniczyć można właściwie tylko do wizyt w różnych świątyniach, my tę część turystyczną odbyliśmy bardzo szybko... w pewnym momencie wszystkie pagody wyglądają identycznie (podobnie jak kościoły zresztą). Natomiast targowiska znudzić się nie mogą, przynajmniej smakoszom, a że Chiang Mai to miejsce przyjazne roślinożercom, to dla mnie każde odwiedziny na targowiskach kończyły się przejedzeniem.
