LUXEMBURG-LIEGE-MASTRICH

Luxembourg

Liege by night
huge stairs in Liege
After the emotional morning in Verdun, we headed to Luxembourg in the afternoon. That´s the first country where neither I or Hector have been beforeJ The country is so small, but pretty. It´s so amazing that it has such a long history!!!We have planned to spend there the whole afternoon, but after two hours of walking aroung and enjoying the views on the mountains covered with red, green and yellow leafs, the huge bridges over small creeks and after seeing the small palaces and churches...and drinking a hot cup of coffee... we have decided to go to Belgium to spend the night over there.
And that is how we got to Liege, a huge city- one of these that have the special atmosphere, that makes you think that living here you would be happpyJ After arrival, we took a short night walk to get the first taste, and than in the early mornig we started to discover the town... in the night it already seemed big, but it showed up to be much bigger than we´ve expected. Bigger and full of surprises!!!!Here the modern architecture meets the old buildings and they both fit togheter perfectly!!!Here you find old churches on the side of modern shops and office buildings... and its still beutifull!!!
After walking around Liege, we have headed towards Holland- Maasrticht.
The city is mostly known for the meaning that it has for the European Union, because it´s fate has been decided here...But here we found out that there is much more about Maastricht to discover. The city is such a typical city that you can find in Holland, but on the second view you discover the small nice streets, coffees (and coffee shopsJ), markeds, so typical for this part of europe, and the colorfull flowers everywhere. I just had the lust to take a bicycle and take a ride threoghout the lovely small streets.... but our speedy turism trip (yeah...it´s  so funny to eat breakfast in Belgium, lunch in Holland and the dinner in Germany!!!) has it own rights and we had to depart early, to get to Bochum, and visit the friends of Hector...but that´s a completely new storyJ
