La Great Ocean Road tiene como colofón llegar a los famosos Doce Apóstoles(que en realidad no son doce).
Estas famosas rocas calizas ,esculpidas por la erosión marítima son una de las mayores atracciones turísticas de Australia y un paisaje abrumador que regala el Parque Nacional de Port Campbell.
Aquí al contemplar este espectáculo natural el tiempo se detiene, el olor a mar, el sonido de las olas rompiendo contra las rocas o la tranquilidad del lugar te permiten disfrutar de cada instante. Ademas fue desde aquí donde avistamos por primera vez en nuestras vidas un grupo de ballenas,¡fue formidable!.
The Twelve Apostles are limestone stacks by the Great Ocean Road. Originally they were nine, now- after one of them collapsed, eight are left. The name is a new invention to attract the tourists. Originally the limestones were named Saw and the Piglets.
The place is really beautifull, but all it's magic dissapperas when you see the crowds of tourists, trying to take their pics... I don't even want to imagine how horrible it must be in high season:)
Dwanaście Apostołów to wapienne formacje skalne położone przy Great Ocean Road. Do niedawna było ich dziewięć, obecnie, po zawaleniu się jednego z nich, jest ich tylko osiem. Nazwa 12 Apostołów jest dość nowa, zdaje się bardziej przyciągająca turystów.
Miejsce to, wraz z okolicznymi klifami Loch Ard Gorge nazywały się Maciora i Prosięta.
Pięknie tu i można łatwo zrozumieć dlaczego miejsce to jest tak popularne... ale tłumy turystów zabrały apostołom nieco uroku-i nawet nie chcę sobie wyobrażać jak jest tu w pełni sezonu...
