ECHUCA.

Durante nuestro tiempo en las tierras de Victoria, hemos ido un par de veces a Echuca, una población situada en el cruce de los ríos Goulburn, Campaspe, y Murray, cuyo nombre significa en aborigen confluencia de aguas.
Esta población cuya época gloriosa data del siglo XIX cuando era un puerto importante de mercancías tales como la lana, cereales o madera, posee a día de hoy el encanto de antaño. Ademas conserva gran cantidad de los barcos de vapor que antiguamente se dedicaban al trasporte de mercancías hasta Melbourne y que ahora sirven como media de trasporte turístico.
Las antiguas calles empedradas y sobre tierra han quedado enclavadas en la historia, mientras que otra parte de la ciudad se desarrolla conforme a los tiempos que vivimos.
En Echuca hemos pasado muy buenos momentos junto a Jordi y Hayley o junto a Antoine, Willy, Sam y su familia.

A couple of times, along with our friends: Hayley and Jordi, Sam and his family and Antoine and Willy we visited the city of Echuca. 
Echuca lies on the crossing of three rivers: Goulburn, Campaspe and Murray. The city was once an important port for the river transport and some of the original buildings from the last century are still there and perfectly intact. We often have the impression, that Australia reminds a lot the US, but in Echuca this feeling gets even stronger. Here you are really in the middle of a western movie. Stagecoaches take tourists for rides around the city. Old smithsstalls show you how horseshoes are made and you can even go on a trip on a steamboat. And there is horseshit is the middle of the streets...  :) Yeehaw!!!!

Miasteczko Echuca odwiedziliśmy przy paru okazjach, zawsze w towarzystwie przyjaciół: Hayley i Jordiego, Sama i jego rodziny oraz Antoina i Williego. Położone jest ono pomiędzy trzema ważnymi szlakami ważnymi, co uczyniło z Echuca jeden z większych portów rzecznych Australii. Do tej pory zachowało się wiele oryginalnych budynków z epoki pomiędzy 19-tym i 20-tym stuleciem. Głównymi atrakcjami turystycznymi miasta są przejażdżki dyliżansem i wycieczki po rzece Murray na statku parowym. Na przyportowej ulicy znaleźć można kuźnie i restauracje "z epoki". Będąc w Australii często mamy wrażenie, że kraj ten niewiele różni się od Stanów Zjednoczonych, ale w Echuca wrażenie bycia bohaterami westernu jest jeszcze silniejsze.
